I wonder if you have had the same experience that I had not too long ago when I got “the common cold” that actually had all flu symptoms.
I remember looking at myself in the mirror and felling depressed after over 3 weeks in bed. In the beginning, I lost more than 5 pounds of muscle. After that; you could tell in my face how skinny and weak I was.
This is a bit embarrassing, but here’s what was going on in my life, and I wonder if you can relate with any of it.
* I had ZERO will power, very little strength.
* Very little appetite.
* Feeling bloated and uncomfortable after eating, it seemed like I had gas cramps nearly after every meal.
* My stomach was stressed.
* After I got out of bed, I spent a good portion of the day feeling my brain was in a cloud.
I’d finish out the day and realized that I had hardy accomplished any of the things that I had planned for the day.
I wish you didn’t relate to this, because there is nothing worse than not being able to wake up, get out of bed and enjoy the day with energy.
I’m not talking to every one here, I know.
But if you are nodding your head right now, you are going to be so glad that you are reading my true story right now because… I'm a fitness professional know'swhat it is to be sick & unhealthy.
But, I have got a special surprise for you.
HOW I TURNED ALL OF IT AROUND COMPLETELY.
Some thing that was hard for me to understand because of how I was feeling,
and that you must also have clear is that none of it is our fault;
I went to the hospital and realized, this is not some thing my doctor could have fixed.
Every one noticed I was a complete mess; every muscle in my body was in pain.
I had no energy, I couldn’t get out of bed in the morning, and my digestion was completely out of whack.
I want to tell YOU EXACLY HOW I CHANGED MY LIFE, and how YOU CAN DO IT TOO…
As a P.E. teacher and Personal Trainer there is a heavy demand on my brain and body and when there is little rest and poor nutrition this is what happened.
I put my system in to so much stress from activity and on top of that I was eating the wrong foods, plus drinking alcohol & caffeine beverages.
I was in despair like there was nobody that could help me. I tried every thing in the book and my life just kept spiraling down and down.
Only when I listened to the voice inside of me telling me to strive to make my body strong and my mind focused on simple goals, then I started healing from the inside out. I used whole foods, new nutritional knowledge, and activity to start my healing process,
and, guess what?
My stress? Gone.
My sickness? Gone.
My sinus problems? Gone.
My digestion issue? Gone.
And I gained 6 pounds back of lean muscle .
My energy, vitality and immune system are now working 100%.
How did I do it?
What changed every thing for me?
Well, it turns out:
You really are what you eat, how you eat, and when and where you eat. But also research shows that what you do with what you kind of food eat is the most important factor for feeling good, maintaining a healthy weight and a strong immune system.
Do you remember wonderful days of once being lean and fit looking?
Well, to tell you the truth I remember the days when I wasn’t.
Growing up in a family of SUPER good cooking, especially at “my grandma’s day care”. I got use to get lots of candy, sweets and huge portions of foods high in fat and salt, don’t get me wrong it was delicious; but I still had to eat it ALL.
That’s why people started teasing me calling me names and referring to me as “the chubby boy”,
I used to struggle while pulling up jeans and wished not having to suck in my stomach to zip them up.
By the age of 14 I realized girls did no pay much attention to "chubby boys" and I had to do some thing about (the baby fat) and my appearance.
I’m glad I did.
Now,
I TRULY BELEVE THAT GOOD FRESH FOOD IS MEDICINE and many of my private personal training clients confess that they feel the same way I did; As though everyone is staring at them when walking into a crowded gym.
How you feel when you walk along a beach, do you even dare wear a swimsuit? Even if this is an issue,
I have the answer…
There is fact and there is fiction. When it comes to food myths, do any of these unfounded notions sound familiar to you?
Myth: Margarine has fewer calories than butter.
Fact: Regular stick margarine and stick butter contain the same number of calories: about 36 per teaspoon.
Myth: A rich, chocolate sundae before bedtime is more fattening than the same sundae eaten at lunchtime.
Fact: Timing has no direct effect on how your body uses calories. What you eat, not when, makes the difference. No matter when they’re eaten, excess calories can add up to extra body fat.
Myth: Potatoes and bread are fattening.
Fact: By themselves, they’re not high in calories – 88 calories for a medium potato and 70 calories for an average-size slice of bread. Both potatoes and bread are great sources of carbohydrates.
Myth: Excess carbohydrates, not fats, cause weight gain.
Fact: Excess carbohydrates are no more fattening than excess calories from any source: fats, carbohydrates or proteins. Too many calories from any source are stored as body fat.
